Abstract
The AusEnHealth project is developing a nationally consistent set of environmental health indicators to support public health decision-making in the context of climate and environmental change. These indicators span key hazards such as extreme heat, air quality, and vector-borne disease, and are designed using a well-known conceptual framework to analyse the relationship between environmental factors and human health. By integrating diverse datasets, including meteorological, land use, demographic, and health data, the indicator sets provide a comprehensive, place-based view of risk.
The talk would focus on the statistical design and communication of these indicators, with global comparisons and use cases demonstrating the value of the indicator sets across environmental domains and in the hands of different user types (government, research, public).
