Abstract

The presentation gives an overview of international developments in the area of household distributional accounts, in particular the respective workstreams coordinated by the OECD, Eurostat and the European Central Bank, and the relevant international expert groups. After explaining the policy context, the basic concepts to link micro and macro data sources on income, consumption and wealth are shown. Both the current progress, the main challenges and the future developments are discussed. Selected results for countries and the euro area conclude the presentation.
