Abstract
Violence against women (VAW) remains a pervasive yet underreported public health crisis, utilizing data from the Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) conducted by the National Bureau of Statistics, this research examines the prevalence and determinants of VAW, with a focus on the socio-demographic factors influencing reporting behaviour. employing advanced statistical techniques, including logistic regression and spatial analysis, the research identifies patterns and hotspots of underreporting across different regions. the findings reveal significant correlations between underreporting and factors such as education level, economic status, and cultural norms. By integrating big data analysis and geospatial tools, the study provides nuanced insights into the silent epidemic of VAW in Tanzania. These insights are crucial for policymakers, and community leaders aiming to develop targeted interventions and support systems that address both the occurrence and the reporting of VAW.
