Abstract
The presentation would discuss how business statistics, administrative data, and firm-level datasets can be leveraged to improve the measurement of intangible assets in African economies. Drawing on recent work conducted within the World Bank’s initiatives, the presentation would examine the role of intangible capital in shaping firm productivity, business dynamism, and economic growth. It would also highlight how the integration of business registers, tax records, and official statistics can strengthen growth diagnostics and support evidence-based policymaking in developing economies.
