Future Insights: Horizon Scanning for Official Statistics
Category: Innovative MeetingsParticipants
What trends and technologies will shape the future of official statistics—and how can we prepare for them?
In this session, organised by the European Statistical System Innovation Network (EIN) and supported by Eurostat, we present the key insights from the recent EIN Horizon Scanning Report as well as the findings of other long-term visioning initiatives in the space. This strategic foresight exercise explores emerging innovation drivers—such as artificial intelligence, new data ecosystems, and changing user expectations—that are likely to influence how statistics are produced and used in the coming years.
Participants will be able to join in an interactive panel combining the perspectives of statistics experts from different domains on upcoming shifts in the field, and the ways that groups plan to respond to these.
Whether you are a statistician, researcher, policymaker, or simply interested in the future of data, this session offers a unique opportunity to engage with the EIN’s forward-looking work and connect with a growing community of innovators in European statistics.
