  • Proposal Description

AI is increasingly transforming official statistics by providing new methods to enhance efficiency, improve data quality, and modernise workflows across national statistical offices (NSOs). This invited paper session will explore practical applications of AI throughout the statistical production process, structured into four components:

Component 1: AI for Data Collection and Processing
Component 2: AI for Data Classification
Component 3: AI for Data Dissemination and Communication
Component 4: Statistical Capacity Development to Strengthen AI-Readiness of NSOs

By bringing together international experts on this topic, the session aims to identify challenges and promising practices that can guide NSOs in effectively implementing AI tools in different stages of the statistical production process. Specific attention will be given to the role of the ISI Academy in fostering global collaboration, supporting capacity building, and promoting responsible AI adoption in official statistics.
