Correspondence analysis and its Related Methods in Archaeology
Conference
Proposal Description
This session will explore the development and application of correspondence analysis and related methods for the analysis of archaeological data. In particular, it will provide a review of the global development and application of correspondence analysis in archaeology over the past century. New variants of classical correspondence analysis, as well as its related classification methods, will be presented in relation to large and/or sparse archaeological datasets.
The speakers are all experts in correspondence analysis and have published widely on the topic, specialising either in the technical and computational development of correspondence analysis or in its applications. The session includes a mix of archaeologists and statisticians who have used correspondence analysis and related methods for the analysis of archaeological datasets, and who represent institutions from around the world.
