    Proposal Description

In an era marked by rapid technological change, artificial intelligence (AI) is seen as a force that will shape the future. However, with its rapid adoption comes high expectations that may foster unrealistic assumptions about the impact of AI technologies on official statistics. Artificial intelligence is the ability of a digital computer or computer-controlled robot to perform tasks commonly associated with intelligent beings. AI technology harbors immense potential to revolutionize official statistics, from data collection, to data analysis, from data analysis to decision-making, from decision making to effective service delivery. AI tools are advancing and are becoming more prevalence. AI integration across national statistics offices (NSOs) have the potential to minimize administrative burdens, reduce cost against the use of traditional methods of data collection, improve decision-making and enhance public service delivery. This invited paper session examines the emergence of the new data Eco-system and Artificial Intelligence, it examines how the National Statistics Offices should responsibly adopt artificial intelligence to improve data collection, data analysis, decision making and effective service delivery; It Examines how a responsible AI can be integrated into official statistics from data collection to effective service delivery; It explores how AI can transform official statistics policies, programs, and operations; thus provides strategic framework for National Statistical Organizations to harness artificial intelligence — responsibly, effectively, and at scale; it further explores opportunities for professional development without compromising the fundamental principle of official statistics.
